Artist Statement

Done with traditional acrylic paint, high flow acrylic and acrylic paint pens, "Trouble Don't Last Always” is an abstract depiction of how being grounded in a higher power allows one to weather the tribulations of life.

The drip effect (achieved with high flow acrylics) represents the storms of life and the black form represents a person weathering the storm.

Gye Nyame is an Andikra symbol that means the supremacy and protection of God and is shown centering the back figure.

The abstract head of the black figure is looking up focused on the gold arch over the storm representing focus on the power of God and the temporality of the storms.
