Chasing Ambition

Chasing Ambition was one of the first pieces of digital art I created when I bought my iPad in 2020
I wanted to try all the techniques I'd seen my artist friends use in Procreate, but more importantly, I wanted to create a piece that represented how my life felt at the time.
In 2020 | I was finishing two graduate degrees virtually, coping with the growing pandemic, and trying to figure out my creative and entrepreneurial direction.
Simultaneously, I was learning what it meant to take care of my mental health.
While it's important to celebrate past accomplishments (symbolized by the balloons in the girl's hands), it's also important to keep a clear view of the evolving goals ahead of you (represented by the wavy, seemingly changing sunshine). Most important are every step, breath, and moment along the way (as shown by the foreground, which has the most detail and takes up most of the image). This piece represents how beautiful the journey can be if you keep everything in perspective.
